This 1968 MGB Roadster was dropped off to us as it had starting issues and running issues.
John Woods quickly diagnosed a leaking Heater Valve that was allowing coolant to drip over the distributor.
A new Heater Valve was fitted and as the ignition components needed replacing the customer opted for a PowerSpark Electronic Ignition (K4) upgrade.
Why Fit Powerspark electronic ignition?
Powerspark’s patented electronic ignition has no mechanical parts, so there’s much less to go wrong than with traditional points. Every spark is controlled precisely and accurately allowing for smoother running and improved reliability.
Using a PowerSpark electronic ignition kit to replace the points in your existing distributor, you’ll feel the benefits of electronic ignition immediately.
The kit uses a simple magnetic trigger and optimises dwell to provide a reliable and consistent spark across the rev range. It is easy to install and maintenance free. Electronic ignition will give your classic car better starting and smoother running.
It also has built in ‘over current protection’ that shuts down the system, preventing component damage if the ignition is left switched on and the engine not running.
Easy to install
Replaces troublesome points and condenser
No visible difference in your engine bay
John Woods Motorcare always keep a 45D (K4) and 25D (K2) Powerspark Electronic Ignition kit in stock.
